John was the producer and host of the show Crossing Over with John Edward, which has been both syndicated and aired on the Science Fiction Channel in the United States and on LIVINGtv in the UK. In Crossing Over Edward appeared to be communicating with the deceased relatives or friends of those in the studio audience in what he often called a "reading". The format of the show involved Edward questioning the audience members with information he said was garnered from their deceased acquaintances/relatives. Audience members either confirm or deny aspects of the subject Edward is discussing. The show often employed a split screen, showing the viewer John Edward continuing his reading without sound on one half of the screen, whilst on the other half the audience member being read discusses their opinion of the reading experience. A voiceover by Edward is also implemented.
